Tonfa - one of exotic Jugger Pompfen

Beitrag von SkiF » Di 18. Sep 2018, 23:05

Some people were inerested in this Pompfen and asked me in my Instagram account (where I placed photo of my Jugger tonfas).

And recently we made a short video about it. So, I added English subtitles if some wants to learn more about Jugger tonfas.

Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5Us5PXEvCw

So, if you need more infos, or if you also want to make tonfas, you can ask me right here (I have manual in Russian, but can put some parts of it here in English if it's necessary).

Sie können auf Deutsch schreiben, wenn es für Sie bequemer ist :schreiber:

Thanks for sharing. Since Double Short is generally seen as the worst weapon, only a few germans play Double Short competitively. This version seems to keep the main disadvantage of reach. So what does actual sparing look like? Or did you just build it to look cool?

I agree, main disadvantage is a small reach. But main advantages are your speed and a short distance (clinch). When you clinch, opponent can do nothing with his/her too long Pompfe.

But for this (as for short swords) you should have a good technique. For instance, if you have an experise in fistfighting, karate, kung fu or something like that, you'll be good with that Pompfe.

Which ruleset do you play by? Specifically: is your forearm a hitzone?

We use simplifyed Australian ruleset. So yes, for enforcers, forearm is a hitzone. But for qwik - is not (the main reason why we use Australian, honestly).

Foreseeing your next question, I could say, yes. It may happen sometimes when tonfa did not save your forearms. You should look after tonfa's position, how correctly it is, to not allow it to slip off.
